Counting My Blessings On A Sunday Afternoon

Counting My blessings On A Sunday Afternoon

is where I reflect on a few of the many blessing and special moments in my life at the end of every week♥

This week I am especially thankful for!…

~The big, beautiful blooms on our Rose bushes.

~A sweet spirited afternoon with Mister Mister before he had to leave for work out-of-town at the last-minute. Always so bitter/sweet when he has to go but it always causes us to savor those last moments together all the more.

~The older Lovey gets the more he misses his Daddy those times that he is away. One morning after Mister Mister had left, while Lovey was “scheduling” his return on my phones calendar, though tears were shed, humor was still present when he asked me if he could have a tissue to wipe his eyeballs. Cute.

~A movie date, just Lovey and I. We watched Escape From Planet Earth. We ate candy and laughed the entire time.

~Lovey falls asleep holding my hand. In that moment there is no where in the world I would rather be. ♥

~The plumbing nightmare at our house has finally came to an end. The culprit of the flood, a broken faucet upstairs has been fixed. All flood damage cleaned & replaced. Almost completely back to normal after a long week of torn up floors, VERY loud industrial fans and people in and out of our house all day every day. I never realized how much I appreciate the peace and quiet of our home until it was abruptly interrupted. Needless to say I am very happy for its return. Silence truly is golden!

~A new chest of drawers in our mater bedroom. Extra space to store items that were bursting out of our closets my closet. 😉

Thank You Lord,

for Your many gracious blessings in my life!

Sleep

huyhuioij

Before his teeth were brushed and his face was washed.

Before I tucked him in for the night.

Before I read him a story. Before we said bedtime prayers.

Before hugs and kisses.

Before sleepy good nights and an exchange of I love you more.

He gave way to sleep, in his own time and place.

I picked him up and carried him to his room,

his sweet cheek resting on my shoulder as I walked.

A kiss on his forehead and covers pulled up high,

and a photo I will treasure for a lifetime.

Fishy Eggs

Lovey has always had a fascination with fish so when I saw this fish themed Easter egg decorating kit I knew he would love it.IMG_3558Untitled-8Untitled-11He and I had so much fun decorating our ‘fishy’ eggs together.rdfcUntitled-9We spent the afternoon pretending that we were fish too.

This week I am especially thankful for!…

~While cooking Lovey breakfast one morning, he ran up to me, wrapped his little arms around my legs, looked up at me with those baby blues of his and said “You’re the best cooker, Mom!” ♥

~The first day of Spring! It may still only be in the 50’s here but it is officially SPRING! and I will gladly take it.

~Big brother little sister get it all out, talk about any and everything, cry, laugh, nothing but love conversations. I love my big brother A and I am so thankful for the bond we share and the heart to heart talks that we have.

~Teaching Lovey the little piggy rhyme on his toes that my mom taught me when I was his age: “This little piggy went to market, this little piggy stayed home…” He belly laughs every time as he tries to wiggle away from me by the time I get to his last little piggy.

~Sunday afternoon. Cinnabon. Play time at the mall’s kid’s corner with Lovey and family dinner out. The highlight of a very rough week.

~”Love bears all things. Believes all things. Hopes all things. Endures all things ”  1 Corinthians 13:7 Oh how this verse has been on repeat in my mind, heart and soul this week. I believe it with all of my heart but goodness is it hard to purposely live it out through my words and actions sometimes!

~Last but not least this week, I’m thankful that I went ahead and wrote this post even though I really wasn’t feeling up to writing it. I’m thankful that I took the time to dig deeper than I usually have to in order to focus my heart on the blessings this week held for me, even if they were among things that broke my spirit for a while. I want to be an advocate for never letting life’s painful moments overshadow the sweet ones because even when everything seems to be falling apart, the truth is that it really isn’t. This too shall pass. It is a season of our life. A chapter in our book.  There are brighter days ahead. There is always light at the end of the darkness in the form of God’s unfailing love for us. †

Thank You Lord,

for Your many gracious blessings in my life!

A Birthday Letter

Untitled-3

Our sweetest, Lovey! Our amazing, little boy! You are now FOUR!!!!

All week we celebrated your last  Monday… Tuesday… Wednesday… of being three because we’re a family who embraces the small and often silly things in life.

Now we celebrate with you all of your days of being four!

We promise to fill your fourth year with all the love and happiness that you have filled us with throughout your life. You make our world go around without even knowing it. You make us laugh, make us smile, and make us thankful everyday for you, our precious son. We love you with more love than we ever knew that our hearts were capable of holding.

You are so perfectly made by God and we are the most blessed parents that He chose you to be ours. Your smart, kind, thoughtful spirit shines so very bright that we are often in awe of the future we know He has in store for you.

We pray for a healthy and happy new year of life ahead of you!

You have our hearts always and forever.

This week I am especially thankful for!..

~Celebrating Lovey’s fourth birthday Hot Wheels style and loving on said newly four-year old boy!

~A game of soccer using batteries under the bathroom door with Lovey. It’s a parent thing, if you are one you likely have a similar story of sorts. 😉

~A new set of thinking of you cards. I know some sweet people in my life who will be receiving one in the mail soon!

~Cuddling up with Mister Mister and watching The King Of Queens. It’s our go to show to watch as we wind down together these days. Plus the theme song gets us every time… “cash my check and drive right home to you ♥”

~The love of my boys always. always. always pulls me through my toughest times and reminds me to never give up. They are my heart.

Thank You Lord,

for Your many gracious blessings in my life!

This week I am especially thankful for!…

~A beautiful rainbow right outside my front door.

~Taking advantage of the rare occasion of Lovey taking an afternoon nap by running a hot bubble bath for myself and watching the rain pour down outside my bathroom window.

~Speaking of rain, Lovey pronounces umbrella “biola.” Now that it’s more or less a constant down pour around these parts every time we head out the door he exclaims, “don’t forget the biola!” It makes me laugh every time.

~Fall scents are out in full force in our home and I am loving it. Pumpkin candles and Harvest popuri collectively come together to fill our home with a warm and cozy scented ambiance.

~Playing cash register/store with Lovey. He enjoys being the cashier/store owner and I am his customer. He gives me a family discount so it works out well.

~Lovey drew a heart for me for the very first time this week. I was taken back by how over the moon filled with joy a few strokes of a green marker on purple paper could make me. It came as a surprise that it would mean that much to me but it truly did! He even scribbled wrote “I love you so, so much!” on it.

Three And A Half

Dear Lovey,

Today you are three and a half!

You are growing, learning and changing before my eyes. Sometimes before my teary eyes as I find myself amazed by how you, once so small, have grown into such a smart and handsome, big boy!

Your half birthdays are not as emotional for me as your “full” birthdays are but still rest heavy on my heart, in a positive way.

Reminding me that you are healthy, happy and thriving.

There isn’t a day that passes that you don’t make me laugh, make me smile, fill my heart with the purest love and bring purpose to my soul every time I look into your beautiful, big blue eyes.

Oh my sweet, little Lovey how I love you so!

Thank you for your cuteness. For your infectious laughter. For your “one more hug and kiss.” For your friendship, you have declared us best friends! For being my little helper, especially with the laundry and baking and cooking in the kitchen. For being so much fun to spend time with. For looking back at me with as much awe and wonder as I look at you with. For truly being the sweetest little boy I could have ever hoped to have. For being my whole world.

Happy half birthday, my baby, my big boy, my Lovey!
