Counting My Blessings On A Sunday Afternoon

Counting My blessings On A Sunday Afternoon

is where I reflect on a few of the many blessing and special moments in my life at the end of every week♥    photohihjij

This week I am especially thankful for!…

~The last blooms on our rose bushes of the season, including a precious picture that I was able to catch of my little Love with them.

~Random Pokémon card houses being built by Lovey and his Dad, sprawled out on the livingroom floor Saturday night.

~A final confirmation that all things are a go for Lovey to start Kindergarten at the school we selected for him. After a higher than average influx of applicants, Lovey was put on a waiting list and we have been prayerfully awaiting a response. Thankfully, everything seems to have worked out as God has planed and he is accepted!

~Summertime traditions with my boys, time down by the river and our favorite pizza place.

~New friends. Mister and I met a very nice couple that has a little boys Lovey’s same age. The boys had a great time playing together and Mister Mister and I were pleasantly surprised how very much the couple and ourselves have in common. We will plan another play date with our boys again sometime soon.

~Another Sunday night cuddle session in Mister Mister’s and my bed with Lovey watching Frozen (dare I say for the very first time!) Then, once Lovey was asleep and put into his bed, Mister Mister and I watched God’s Not Dead and snacked on chocolate covered strawberries that I made for us. A perfect way to end the week. ♥

Thank You Lord,

for Your many gracious blessings in my life!

Confetti Chocolates

A dear friend of ours birthday is today so I made her birthday confetti chocolates.

I love the whimsical quality that brightly colored sprinkles always bring to anything. 🙂

A Happy Birthday bar just for her and mini squares for sharing.

Wrapped up in a playfully colored tin with ribbon on top.

Happy Birthday, V! We love you!

Christmas Cocoa

I think this very well is my favorite hand-made gift to date. Also the most tedious to make might I add. Talk about a hand cramp after I curling more ribbon than I normally do in an entire Christmas season. 😉

Well worth it though I think, take a look!!

I portioned the cocoa and marshmallows into individual serving size bags.

Then I dipped spoons to stir the cocoa with into chocolate and added festive sprinkles.

In total I made twenty-nine! I hope all the recipients enjoy their cocoa on Christmas morning made with my special ingredient, LOVE!

I Forgot…

As I mentioned in my Easter catch up post, I was really out of it last week.

I had no energy what so ever and spent my days day dreaming of it being bedtime already.

I thought Spring was supposed to boost your energy, not deplete it! 😛

So as a result I ended up getting behind on just about everything in my life and blogging was no exception.

Actually it was probably the first thing I cut trying to conserve energy 😉 because photo editing and actually sitting down to put thought to keyboard can be a bit energy zapping sometimes.

While on my little mental vacation I forgot all about my one year blogiversary on April 26th. It seriously just dawned on me today!

Honestly though, it truly has been a great first year of blogging and Life’s Moments has come to feel like home to me.

I love documenting so many of the special moments in my family’s life so that we can look back fondly at them one day and smile. ♥

I want to say thank you to everyone who finds an interest in my blog and the snippets that I share of our lives.

Also, thank you to everyone who takes the time to comment and even to those who do not because I know you still return time and time again. 🙂

And I am thankful to have made some extremely talented and  kind blogging friends along the way.

I hope you all will continue along side me for many years to come!

Chocolate Whip Cream Cake

Yesterday was a family friend’s Birthday.

She is a colleague of Mister Mister’s mom and a very sweet person.

I baked her a cake and Mister Mister, Lovey and I delivered it to their office for the Birthday girl. 🙂

I made a “perfectly chocolate” cake, that’s what the recipe is called. 😉

This was my first time making whip cream from scratch.

I was a bit nervous to make it because I do not have an electric mixer. It’s on the top of my wish list though, trust me!

So I whipped it up by hand, even Mister Mister lended a hand with the mixing because I thought my arm was going to fall off! 😉

Some team work later it whipped up perfectly and I was very happy with how it turned out.

I don’t think I will be buying the can kind anymore, I had no idea how much better it is homemade!

We hope you had a very Happy Birthday, V! xo
