Golden Christmas

Christmas 2013, our golden Christmas. A lot of love, a lot of memories and a lot of gold, literally. I naively bought gold glitter wrapping paper to go with our white and gold color scheme and boy was that a sparkly mess. I digress. A special Christmas none the less.d27

My Christmas Eve gift to the boys, light up remote control cars. I had eyed these on the Christmas toy palooza, that is the home shopping network come December, for a couple of years and finally caved. There were no regrets.d32

Counting My Blessings On A Sunday Afternoon

Counting My blessings On A Sunday Afternoon

is where I reflect on a few of the many blessing and special moments in my life at the end of every week♥    cmb1

This week I am especially thankful for!…

~I had the pleasure of accompanying Lovey on his first school field trip. We saw a local children’s theater’s production of Annie the musical. Lovey and I had watched Annie the movie in preparation of the field trip so it was fun to listen to him sing along to all the songs… “I love you tomorrow! ♥”

~A new throw pillow that I absolutely love. It’s a pretty burnt orange which works in with all the earthy tones in our home and it has white writing that says “home is where the home is.”

~There were a few days of high winds in our city which knocked out a lot of people’s power but luckily we were spared.

~Those same winds brought an unusual cold front for this time of year which produced surprise snow flurries one afternoon. Mister Mister had the afternoon off from work because of the freezing temps so the three of us cuddled up together in Mister Mister’s and my bed and watched a few red box movies.

~My ipsy came a week early and it very well may be my favorite one that I have ever received. Double happy!

~Sunday funday, a tried and true evening at Chuck E. Cheese with our little guy. It’s amazing the decimal volume I am willing to endure for pizza and of course Lovey’s happy smile.

Thank You Lord,

for Your many gracious blessings in my life!

This week I am especially thankful for!…

~The last blooms on our rose bushes of the season, including a precious picture that I was able to catch of my little Love with them.

~Random Pokémon card houses being built by Lovey and his Dad, sprawled out on the livingroom floor Saturday night.

~A final confirmation that all things are a go for Lovey to start Kindergarten at the school we selected for him. After a higher than average influx of applicants, Lovey was put on a waiting list and we have been prayerfully awaiting a response. Thankfully, everything seems to have worked out as God has planed and he is accepted!

~Summertime traditions with my boys, time down by the river and our favorite pizza place.

~New friends. Mister and I met a very nice couple that has a little boys Lovey’s same age. The boys had a great time playing together and Mister Mister and I were pleasantly surprised how very much the couple and ourselves have in common. We will plan another play date with our boys again sometime soon.

~Another Sunday night cuddle session in Mister Mister’s and my bed with Lovey watching Frozen (dare I say for the very first time!) Then, once Lovey was asleep and put into his bed, Mister Mister and I watched God’s Not Dead and snacked on chocolate covered strawberries that I made for us. A perfect way to end the week. ♥

Thank You Lord,

for Your many gracious blessings in my life!

Eleven

This summer Mister Mister and I celebrated our eleventh anniversary together. 10524362_10201376948306141_7882419521848428463_nHe loves Lovey and I fiercely. He works so incredibly hard to provide for our family. He does His best to right his wrongs – to learn, to grow, to move forward. There isn’t a day that goes by that he doesn’t make Lovey and I smile and laugh. He will forever be my always and I will love him equally as long. xo

This week I am especially thankful for!…

~Summer evenings, watching my little love skip rocks by the river.

~Lovey “planting flowers” in the backyard. As it turned out, the flower seeds were really foot soak salts. In his defense the bag did have flowers on it so I see how he may have misunderstood its use. Such childhood cuteness! This incident kept me laughing all afternoon.

~Seeing the Ninja Turtles movie with my boys. Such a boy movie but I grew up watching the cartoon with my brothers so it was enjoyable for me as well. Lovey wore his Ninja Turtle shirt and watch. He was so excited that he showed it off to our waitress at dinner before the movie and they ended up discussing who their favorites are. Lovey’s is Mikey, the pizza loving turtle.

~An entire lazy Saturday at home with my loves. It was a homemade burritos, couch cuddles, tv watching, ice cream eating Saturday. ♥

~A sweet mom let me know how much she appreciated Lovey’s manners and kindness when he was playing with her little boy while at Chuck E. Cheese. Hearing that always makes me feel like I am doing something right. Lovey truly is such a respectful and kind-hearted little boy. I’m a lucky Mama.

~We redboxed a race car movie Sunday night that Lovey could watch too and all three of us cuddled up in Mister Mister’s and my bed and watched it together. Life doesn’t get any better than when you are overcome with the feeling that there is nowhere in the world you would rather be than exactly where you are. ♥

Thank You Lord,

for Your many gracious blessings in my life!
