Counting My Blessings On A Sunday Afternoon

Counting My blessings On A Sunday Afternoon

is where I reflect on a few of the many blessing and special moments in my life at the end of every week♥    cmb1

This week I am especially thankful for!…

~I had the pleasure of accompanying Lovey on his first school field trip. We saw a local children’s theater’s production of Annie the musical. Lovey and I had watched Annie the movie in preparation of the field trip so it was fun to listen to him sing along to all the songs… “I love you tomorrow! ♥”

~A new throw pillow that I absolutely love. It’s a pretty burnt orange which works in with all the earthy tones in our home and it has white writing that says “home is where the home is.”

~There were a few days of high winds in our city which knocked out a lot of people’s power but luckily we were spared.

~Those same winds brought an unusual cold front for this time of year which produced surprise snow flurries one afternoon. Mister Mister had the afternoon off from work because of the freezing temps so the three of us cuddled up together in Mister Mister’s and my bed and watched a few red box movies.

~My ipsy came a week early and it very well may be my favorite one that I have ever received. Double happy!

~Sunday funday, a tried and true evening at Chuck E. Cheese with our little guy. It’s amazing the decimal volume I am willing to endure for pizza and of course Lovey’s happy smile.

Thank You Lord,

for Your many gracious blessings in my life!

Fall Scents 2014

f2Mister Mister always says that one of the things he most looks forward to coming home to after a long day at work is how inviting our home always smells when he opens the front door. With that in mind, I look forward to each season and incorporating its iconic scents into our space. Fall is always my favorite, perhaps it most reminds me of the scents around my childhood home as I was growing up and I find comfort in that. It’s amazing what a key role scent plays in our memories. Fall scents run from the first of September through Thanksgiving day in our home. Thanksgiving night or even the next day begins Christmas scents as decorating is in full swing. It may be odd that I have a rotating scent schedule but I like to plan ahead so it works for me!

Bath & Body Works is my favorite, they never disappoint and  I prefer them over Yankee and even Scentsy. I usually pick one to two scents that work together nicely. I’m a bargain shopper and love a sale and discount. I never pay full price so I am able to get enough to last the entire season and extras to share with friends and family. I like to share the smelly goodness!

Last fall I chose Pumpkin Cupcake and Nutmeg Spice. This year they offered the entire Pumpkin Cupcake line which I went with again but they only offered the wallflower plug-in bulbs in the Nutmeg Spice. New this year was the entire line of Harvest Gatherings. I instantly fell in love with the name and the scent so I had found our fall scent duo…

Pumpkin Cupcake: “Satisfy your sweet tooth with the scent of a freshly baked pumpkin cupcake covered in loads of rich buttercream frosting.” — My all time favorite fall scent each year. As long as they continue to offer it, it will be a staple scent in our home!

Harvest Gathering: “Enjoy the richness of Autumn in this mixture of red apple, cinnamon leaf and tart cranberry,” — Replacing Nutmeg Spice from last year, this is a truly fall scent, evoking chilly mornings and cozy evening by the fire.

I like to layer the scents between wall flower plug-ins – giving off the constant scent. Candles – for cozying up with my boys in the evenings. Antibacterial hand soap, simply a given and room spray – for an extra burst of scent love.

Banana Nut

f1I bought this adorable mini banana nutmeg scented mason jar candle at Bath & Body works. I asked the sweet girl there to wrap it up for me.

At home, I baked a couple mini loaves of banana nut bread and wrapped them up as well. I sent it all to my parents as an early happy fall!

Halloween Sweet Treats

I made a few sweet treats for Halloween.

This week I am especially thankful for!…

~Pumpkins picked and family Memories made at the pumpkin patch.

~The exterior of our house was painted this week.  Some pressure washing and a fresh coat of paint made the outside like new again.

~Watching Lovey run and play with the neighborhood kids. It makes my heart happy to see him having so much fun with other kids. It’s a growing and learning experience for the both of us.

~Halloween costume shopping with Lovey. He finally committed to what he wants to be. Now, to coax him into posing for a photo while wearing it for our Halloween card this year.

~I made a very cute Halloween wreath that I am very proud of. I’ll be sharing it later in the week in a post about Halloween decorating.

~Cinetopia movie date with Mister Mister to watch Captain Phillips. We’re always grateful to get a little date time away while Lovey is with his Nana. The movie and the extra cheesy nachos we shared were both exactly what we needed.

Thank You Lord,

for Your many gracious blessings in my life!

This week I am especially thankful for!…

~We missed the Spring cleaning memo when it came to our garage so we did some fall cleaning / rearranging in it this week. I’m sleeping better at night now. Seriously. 😉

~Soaking up some afternoon sunshine with my sweet, little man. ♥

~Lighted blossom trees in our entry room. I put one on each side of the arch way heading into the living room. I love the elegant feel and ambiance they add to the room.

~Hanging out in the back yard with the boys while Mister Mister grilled steaks on the bbq.

~October’s Ipsy bag. Review coming soon… Unfortunately, I wasn’t too thrilled with this month’s contents. Boo. I still enjoy the thrill of the surprise each month though.

Thank You Lord,

for Your many gracious blessings in my life!
