Counting My blessings On A Sunday Afternoon

is where I reflect on a few of the many blessing and special moments in my life at the end of every week♥

This week I am especially thankful for!…

~The big, beautiful blooms on our Rose bushes.

~A sweet spirited afternoon with Mister Mister before he had to leave for work out-of-town at the last-minute. Always so bitter/sweet when he has to go but it always causes us to savor those last moments together all the more.

~The older Lovey gets the more he misses his Daddy those times that he is away. One morning after Mister Mister had left, while Lovey was “scheduling” his return on my phones calendar, though tears were shed, humor was still present when he asked me if he could have a tissue to wipe his eyeballs. Cute.

~A movie date, just Lovey and I. We watched Escape From Planet Earth. We ate candy and laughed the entire time.

~Lovey falls asleep holding my hand. In that moment there is no where in the world I would rather be. ♥

~The plumbing nightmare at our house has finally came to an end. The culprit of the flood, a broken faucet upstairs has been fixed. All flood damage cleaned & replaced. Almost completely back to normal after a long week of torn up floors, VERY loud industrial fans and people in and out of our house all day every day. I never realized how much I appreciate the peace and quiet of our home until it was abruptly interrupted. Needless to say I am very happy for its return. Silence truly is golden!

~A new chest of drawers in our mater bedroom. Extra space to store items that were bursting out of our closets my closet. 😉

Thank You Lord,

for Your many gracious blessings in my life!

A Night At The Movies

Lovey experienced his first movie in a theater recently. Mister Mister and I took him to see Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax.

Besides a trip to the restroom solely out of curiosity and not the urgency he had assured me he was experiencing, 😉 he did a terrific job. There was only minor squirming and he was very attentive to what turned out to be a modern-day Seuss classic in my opinion.

He tried popcorn for the first time as well but was not a fan. I told him it was ok because neither is Mommy.

He mimicked the audiences general laughter with his irresistible giggle.

He spent majority of the movie cuddled up on his Daddy’s lap. I loved looking over at them, their profiles dimly illuminated by glow of the big screen.

A very succesful, enjoyable and memberable first shared with our little boy.

~All good things must come to an end or so they say. Mister Mister’s work schedule, the one that we had grown to love in the two weeks that he had it, has been changed back to his regular one. We are sad to see it go as it allowed for so much more family time but we enjoyed it while it lasted. We gave it a great run and were able to do a lot of fun things and make some wonderful memories with the extra free time it provided.

~Love all the way from the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. Thank you Aunt J and Uncle D for your thoughtfulness.

~Sweet thinking of you cards from my best friend.

~Finally finding the mail key after it was missing for a month. Two days short of having to pay $40 for a new mailbox lock made for perfect timing. 😉

Movie Date!

A new year brings new opportunities to reconnect with the ones we love. Mister Mister and I took advantage of that yesterday and went on our first date of 2012. He had one of his very elusive days off from work so we spent it around town, out to lunch with Lovey and at night a few hours of just he and I at the movies watching Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close.

It had been far too long since we had taken that time for one another, so it turned out to be a much-needed and enjoyed evening. We always say that we are going to get away together more often but then life, as we all know, makes its own plans and they are always such busy ones. Go figure!

This year though, a definite priority for us is finding that time for each other, keeping the spark alive! It’s even on my Lovely List, so you know it’s important business. 😉

A lovely time it was indeed spent with just that, my love♥

Heart In The Middle

“…Gonna make a pie…

Gonna make a pie with a ♥ in the middle…”

 I love the movie Waitress.

Every time I watch it, that song gets stuck in my head for days.

If you haven’t seen it you really should!

It is definitely one that tugs at your heart-strings.

But now back to this pie business!

I baked our first Pumpkin Pie of the season.

Mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmmmm! 😉

It is also the first pie I have ever made from scratch!
