Halloween 2014

Lovey and I made doughnuts for breakfast. He added the Halloween sprinkles.IMG_1260-0
After picking Lovey up from school we had scary face pancakes at IHOP.

He wanted to be Michelangelo from the Ninja Turtles this year.

Happy Halloween Ninja Turtle style!

We trick or treated at the mall first.

And ran into Quail Man, a childhood favorite of mine.

Then we trick or treated around our neighborhood.

It was the first Halloween in years that Mister Mister was able to take off from work and spend with us so we were really happy to have the time with him.

Our favorite decorated house in our neighborhood. The full moon above it couldn’t have been more perfect.

And of course Lovey made out like a candy bandit. It was definitely one of our best Halloweens in years.

We didn’t make it to the pumpkin patch and carve pumpkins like we usually do but Lovey and I did manage to snag a few mini pumpkins from the grocery store and have a little painting party.

Pumpkins And Bats And Mice, Oh My!

Halloween decorating was a lot of fun this year.

Our fireplace mantle in the living room. h1Pumpkin topiareies that I made, probably my favorite addition this year.h2I scored both led candles and the witch pumpkin on clearance at Kohls last year a few months after Halloween so they were nearly 70% off!w3I repurpose our usual candles for every holiday by just adding ribbon. Cheap, quick and always adds a lot of holiday feel to every room. h3w1Bath & Body Works Trick Or Treat candles worked in perfectly.w2I added a little Halloween spirit to the kitchen as well.w4

Lovey’s favorite decoration, Mr. Pumpkin. He talks when you press his nose. He’s a pretty fun fella’ and I can see why he’s Lovey’s favorite.h4Our entry table all dressed up for Halloween.

I love being greeted by a table of cheer, whatever season it may be, when I first walk through our door. It’s always the first area that I decorate and the last one that I put away until the next year. h5w6I brought the wreath in that I made last year from hanging on the front door and found it a new home on the entry mirror.w5I was so pleased with our stairs. Cute and just a touch of creepy with the mice cut outs. Decorating our stairs this way will definitely be a Halloween tradition from now on. h6

Snow Flurries

We had a unseasonable cold spell last week that brought record snow flurries our way. Lovey was already off from school that day and Mister Mister ended up having it off from work as well because of freezing temperatures. We didn’t mind, cozy pajamas and snow gazing was perfectly fine with us.f4

First Field Trip

I had the pleasure of accompanying Lovey on his first field trip. We saw a local children’s theater’s production of Annie the musical. Lovey and I had watched Annie the movie several times in preparation of his field trip so it was fun to listen to him sing along to all the songs; “…I love you tomorrow! ♥” Someday we are going to see a broadway show together but for now this was a good start!

f1Getting morning work done before heading out.f3The kids were all excited that they got to wear special name tags while on the field trip.f5Lovey’s first school bus ride as we made our way to the performance hall.f7These cute boys giggled through the entire show.f2A lot of firsts marked off for this little guy, first field trip, first bus ride and first musical. I’m glad I was able to be there with him and snap a few photos along the way for the scrapbooks!f6a

Counting My Blessings On A Sunday Afternoon

Counting My blessings On A Sunday Afternoon

is where I reflect on a few of the many blessing and special moments in my life at the end of every week♥    cmb1

This week I am especially thankful for!…

~I had the pleasure of accompanying Lovey on his first school field trip. We saw a local children’s theater’s production of Annie the musical. Lovey and I had watched Annie the movie in preparation of the field trip so it was fun to listen to him sing along to all the songs… “I love you tomorrow! ♥”

~A new throw pillow that I absolutely love. It’s a pretty burnt orange which works in with all the earthy tones in our home and it has white writing that says “home is where the home is.”

~There were a few days of high winds in our city which knocked out a lot of people’s power but luckily we were spared.

~Those same winds brought an unusual cold front for this time of year which produced surprise snow flurries one afternoon. Mister Mister had the afternoon off from work because of the freezing temps so the three of us cuddled up together in Mister Mister’s and my bed and watched a few red box movies.

~My ipsy came a week early and it very well may be my favorite one that I have ever received. Double happy!

~Sunday funday, a tried and true evening at Chuck E. Cheese with our little guy. It’s amazing the decimal volume I am willing to endure for pizza and of course Lovey’s happy smile.

Thank You Lord,

for Your many gracious blessings in my life!
