Counting My Blessings On A Sunday Afternoon
Counting My blessings On A Sunday Afternoon
is where I reflect on a few of the many blessing and special moments in my life at the end of every week♥
This week I am especially thankful for!…
~Shopping for some crafty goodness with the Michael’s gift card Mister Mister’s mom gave me for Mother’s Day.
~I have such sweet childhood memories of visiting the Sonic drive in with my family. I’ve continued the memories with Lovey, going together when we are in the area during happy hour. There’s nothing like a limeaid on a hot day!
~A fun, fiesta themed baking order. Olay!
~A full week of nothing but sunny skies and warm temperatures and spending time outside each day enjoying it with Lovey.
~An early Mother’s Day celebration with Mister Mister’s mom. Lovey cuddled up on her lap and she read him a story then they played the afternoon away together while she and I had a great catch up conversation. Lovey and I always enjoy our time with her. ♥
~The thoughtful stranger who gave me a flower, then told me Happy Mother’s Day and that I am a beautiful Mom, while I was out and about with Lovey on Mother’s Day. It made my day.
~Mother’s Day spent with my sweet, little boy who makes it possible for me to embrace the day as a Mother. He is my whole world. ♥
Thank You Lord,
for Your many gracious blessings in my life!
Tick N’ Tater
For Christmas Lovey’s Grandparents got him a hot potato game which he loves to play. Over the weekend, while browsing the isles of Bed Bath & Beyond for Mother’s Day gift inspiration, Lovey spotted a water balloon version called Tick N’ Tater.
It was a near record-breaking, eighty-five degree day out and we were looking to take advantage of Mother Nature’s graciousness. I used my five dollar off coupon, bought it, then headed home to spend Sunday afternoon playing in the back yard with my cute, little hot potato fanatic.
He chose which color balloons he wanted me to fill with water and he was in charge of putting them inside the potato.
Oh sunshine, wont you shine down on me!
The potato runs on a timer, slowly applying pressure to the balloon until eventually it pops. When the timer ran out one of us would end up wet followed by laughter from both of us. The sound of Lovey’s belly laughs always causes an inevitable chain reaction.♥
Never a dull moment with this little boy. ♥

~The amazing summer like weather we have had this week. It makes me so very happy to look at the weather forecast and see nothing but clear skies and sunshine.

Blogiversary #3
Today is Life’s Moments third blogiversary!
From my very first post, this blog has been a true effort of love for me.
It holds so many of my life’s most special moments over the last three years and I adore going back through them all with a smile on my heart.
How do you like the new mini makeover?! I’m loving the new header.
I’m still playing around with possible backgrounds, prints, solids or maybe I’ll keep with the crisp, clean minimal feel it has now.
Blogging has been a fun adventure for me and an outlet through which my writing and photography has grown. Here’s to many more years of growth and celebrating with one another our life’s most precious moments!
I truly appreciate everyone’s interest, love and support along the way.
Thank you all! xo
“Golfin’”
Judging from the title, I’m willing to bet that you assumed this post would be about golf. That would be a good guess but an incorrect one. I tricked you, or rather Lovey did, it’s actually about…bowling.
No matter how many times Mister Mister and I told Lovey that we were going bowling, he was adamant that it is actually called “golfin’.” I’m unsure if toddler logic works the same in reverse. I suppose we will find out the first time we take him golfing or should I say bowling?!
We went along with it because I’ll admit, it was overly cute hearing him go on and on about how excited he was to go “golfin’” for the first time.
*******************
We played games in the bowling alley’s arcade first while we waited for a lane to become available.
Race car driving.
Air hocky.
Pin ball.
Skeet ball.
Dance Dance Revolution.
Then it was time to get down to the real business at hand.
On the verge of his very first strike!

Checking the scores, of course he was in the lead.

Whether you call it “golfin’” like we do or you prefer the more politically correct term,
it’s just a minor technicality as long as it’s done in good fun, right?!
Portland Aquarium
A new aquarium opened up in Portland back in December, we wanted to check it out so we made an afternoon of it one day last week.
Shark attack!
Lovey watching the “polka-dotted” fish.
These were our favorite fish because of their odd-shaped heads.
. They looked as though the sharks that they were swimming around with had taken a bite out of them!
The Eel came out for a quick visit then retreated back inside.
Lovey was sure these were the same jelly fish that Sponge Bob and Patrick goes “jelly fishing” with. He’s so cute.
The novelty touch tank was inside of a repurposed boat.
Hugs from my little fishie!
The boys hanging out with Scuba Steve.
There was a chameleon and a boa-constrictor named Charlie.
Row. Row. Row your boat!…
Lovey’s favorite part was climbing around in the jungle gym and playing in the kid’s play area before we left. Kids will be kids.

Easter
I made this floral arrangement with the bouquet of pastel daisies Mister Mister gave to me for Easter. I doubled up vases and filled the outer one with multi colored jelly beans and blue bunny peeps.
I was loving me some bright. fun. happy flowers.
The Easter bunny brought baskets of goodies for both of my boys.
I’m not sure which one of them is more spoiled.

Hot Wheels filled eggs received ooh’s and awe’s from Lovey.
I love his expression when he first saw them.
There was a bunny puzzle.
And table top bunny bowling too.
The biggest hit in Lovey’s basket was his ring pop.
Suckers are always his sweet treat of choice, this one was no exception.
I prepared an Easter lunch for the three of us which included my first time making a green bean casserole and a brown sugar glazed ham.
My favorites were the fun Easter colored deviled eggs and of course the chocolate bunny cake.
I hid eggs in the back yard for Lovey to hunt.
Always such a handsome, little gentleman.

That evening we went out for dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant then back home to round out the day in comfy clothes and some cuddles on the couch.
We had a sweet Easter filled with the spirit of love and thankfulness for our Savior who died and rose again. ♥
