Counting My blessings On A Sunday Afternoon
is where I reflect on a few of the many blessing and special moments in my life at the end of every week♥
This week I am especially thankful for!…
~Shopping for some crafty goodness with the Michael’s gift card Mister Mister’s mom gave me for Mother’s Day.
~I have such sweet childhood memories of visiting the Sonic drive in with my family. I’ve continued the memories with Lovey, going together when we are in the area during happy hour. There’s nothing like a limeaid on a hot day!
~A fun, fiesta themed baking order. Olay!
~A full week of nothing but sunny skies and warm temperatures and spending time outside each day enjoying it with Lovey.
~An early Mother’s Day celebration with Mister Mister’s mom. Lovey cuddled up on her lap and she read him a story then they played the afternoon away together while she and I had a great catch up conversation. Lovey and I always enjoy our time with her. ♥
~The thoughtful stranger who gave me a flower, then told me Happy Mother’s Day and that I am a beautiful Mom, while I was out and about with Lovey on Mother’s Day. It made my day.
~Mother’s Day spent with my sweet, little boy who makes it possible for me to embrace the day as a Mother. He is my whole world. ♥
Thank You Lord,
for Your many gracious blessings in my life!

~A lot of fun time spent with Lovey at our mall’s play area, the aquarium, Chuck E. Cheese, the movies to watch Rise Of The Guardians and his favorite place, the inflatable play land in town.
~A mug rack for our kitchen, right next to the Keurig for easy access.
~Lovey has been putting himself to bed without my help lately. He tells me he’s going to “take a nap” every night at bedtime then five minutes later he is sound asleep for the night in his bed.
~I have been on a peach kick lately so I am loving my new lavender and peach blossom candle. It smells of so lovely.
~Playing hopscotch on the front porch with Lovey. I drew the hopscotch with chalk and he decorated around it. I sit on the door step and watch him jump along and when invited, I join in for a hopscotch race to see who can jump the quickest. Sweet. Simple. Perfect moments in time.
~When I was a little girl, Disney’s Pocahontas was one of my favorite movies to watch. After having not seen it for close to fifteen years, it came on the Disney channel this afternoon and I have to admit that I set down and watched some of it while the boys were out of the house. It brought a smile to my face and flooded my memory with happy childhood memories.
~My heart goes out to all those affected by the tragic events in America this week like the Boston bombings and the explosion in Texas. I know that sometimes it can be difficult and feel almost selfish to indulge in the little things that bring joy to our lives when so many are consumed by such sorrow and pain. The beauty of life is if you consciously choose to live yours in love, acknowledging all the moments that make up your one wild and precious life you will radiate a light that will uplift and encourage those you come into contact with. A light that will transcend the bad. A spiritual paying it forward. Often when tragedy strikes the only thing to do is pray. Then when you get up off your knees, embrace the light in your life so that it will shine so brightly that others who are experiencing a period of darkness will be reminded of the light also inside them.
Light will always beget light.
Always choose love. Always choose gratitude. Always choose light ♥
Thank You Lord, for Your many gracious blessings in my life!

~Playing Hot Wheels on the kitchen floor with Lovey. We lost a few under the stove but it was worth the fast paced action the floor tile provided for racing.
~The first day this year warm enough to wear shorts and flip-flops. Woo hoo! You can bet Lovey and I spent the afternoon out and about soaking up the sunshine and warmth of the day.
~New kitchen dish towels found on clearance and a splurge on new throw pillows for the couch. Both adding a little pop of yellow to our house for Spring.
~Playing superheros with my little man. I assume the role of a lady in distress and he’s the super hero that protects me from the bad guys. My sweet hero saves the day and keeps me safe every time!
~A beautiful and blessed Easter weekend spent with my boys. ♥
Thank You Lord,
for Your many gracious blessings in my life!
Eggspecially Made
I thought these bags were eggspecially cute and perfect for putting Easter goodies in this year to send to family back home.
I added the Easter sweets that I made, Easter basket cupcakes,
Chocolate dipped Peeps
And of course some Easter candy and a lucky egg or two.

~While cooking Lovey breakfast one morning, he ran up to me, wrapped his little arms around my legs, looked up at me with those baby blues of his and said ”You’re the best cooker, Mom!” ♥
~The first day of Spring! It may still only be in the 50′s here but it is officially SPRING! and I will gladly take it.
~Big brother little sister get it all out, talk about any and everything, cry, laugh, nothing but love conversations. I love my big brother A and I am so thankful for the bond we share and the heart to heart talks that we have.
~Teaching Lovey the little piggy rhyme on his toes that my mom taught me when I was his age: “This little piggy went to market, this little piggy stayed home…” He belly laughs every time as he tries to wiggle away from me by the time I get to his last little piggy.
~Sunday afternoon. Cinnabon. Play time at the mall’s kid’s corner with Lovey and family dinner out. The highlight of a very rough week.
~”Love bears all things. Believes all things. Hopes all things. Endures all things ” 1 Corinthians 13:7 Oh how this verse has been on repeat in my mind, heart and soul this week. I believe it with all of my heart but goodness is it hard to purposely live it out through my words and actions sometimes!
~Last but not least this week, I’m thankful that I went ahead and wrote this post even though I really wasn’t feeling up to writing it. I’m thankful that I took the time to dig deeper than I usually have to in order to focus my heart on the blessings this week held for me, even if they were among things that broke my spirit for a while. I want to be an advocate for never letting life’s painful moments overshadow the sweet ones because even when everything seems to be falling apart, the truth is that it really isn’t. This too shall pass. It is a season of our life. A chapter in our book. There are brighter days ahead. There is always light at the end of the darkness in the form of God’s unfailing love for us. †
Thank You Lord,
for Your many gracious blessings in my life!

~How beautiful my birthday roses still are two weeks later.
~An early start on Spring cleaning, getting a head start on all the deep cleaning and re-organizing in our house.
~Lovey and I surprised Mister Mister by washing and detailing our car and writing him a special note. We left the note on the steering wheel for him to find when he got in it the next day. ♥
~An order for two dozen German Chocolate cupcakes which made our house smell like lovely toasted coconut after I baked them.
~Hazelnut Fraps, my new favorite at Starbucks!
~The fun St. Patty’s breakfast and rainbow chocolate dipped cookies that I made and how cute my boys looked dressed in green together.
~Sunday fun day with my boys: Chuck E. Cheese, grocery shopping, Sonic, then cuddling up on the couch to watch our favorite Sunday night shows.
Thank You Lord,
for Your many gracious blessings in my life!

This week I am especially thankful for!..
~Celebrating Lovey’s fourth birthday Hot Wheels style and loving on said newly four-year old boy!
~A game of soccer using batteries under the bathroom door with Lovey. It’s a parent thing, if you are one you likely have a similar story of sorts.
~A new set of thinking of you cards. I know some sweet people in my life who will be receiving one in the mail soon!
~Cuddling up with Mister Mister and watching The King Of Queens. It’s our go to show to watch as we wind down together these days. Plus the theme song gets us every time… “cash my check and drive right home to you ♥”
~The love of my boys always. always. always pulls me through my toughest times and reminds me to never give up. They are my heart.
Thank You Lord,
for Your many gracious blessings in my life!

{A busy week makes for a late post from Sunday!}
~Everyone who made my birthday special this year. Here’s to making my 26th year something to be proud of!
~The last full week of my baby boy being three. Next week he turns four. This Mama’s heart is overflowing with bitter-sweet emotions.
~Getting my hair done. The biggest thing I do each month to spoil my self. There’s something about freshly colored and styled hair that makes a woman feel a little invincible.
~Lovey was sick with an upset stomach Sunday night so he ended up sleeping with Mister Mister and I. I felt bad that he wasn’t feeling well but family cuddles in our bed until we all fell asleep was a sweet way to end the week, even in spite of Lovey having the pukies!
Thank You Lord,
for Your many gracious blessings in my life!
Valentine Lovelies
A lot of lovely things made up our Valentine’s Day this year.
The Valentine’s I put together to send family back home.
Cupcakes and cake truffles that I made.

I LOVE Pinterest and I am guilty of having a board for just about every holiday.
These are a few great Valentine ideas that I found there and made my own….
A squeeze it and Hershey’s Kisses – “A squeeze and kisses!!”
I liked this one especially since I couldn’t be there to give out real ones.
These were fun to put together for my mom and little sister. I picked up a couple of pairs of cozy Valentine socks at Target then packaged them up.
I made a special Valentine’s breakfast for the three of us. Strawberry smoothies, toast, strawberries and sausage stuffed heart shaped pancakes.
I ♥ YOU toast!
Lovey chose race car Valentines. He picked a specific car for each one of his Valentines and signed his own name like such a big boy.
Mister Mister and I gave Lovey froggy Valentine goodies. They reminded us of right after he was born, when he had the little froggy legs that newborns do.
He’s still our sweet, little froggy.
That evening we took Mister Mister’s mom flowers and spent some time with her.
Lovey stayed and played Legos with her while we enjoyed dinner out together.
And of course all the sweet love notes from family and friends.
They mean so much. ♥
