Easter

I made this floral arrangement with the bouquet of pastel daisies Mister Mister gave to me for Easter. I doubled up vases and filled the outer one with multi colored jelly beans and blue bunny peeps.

I was loving me some bright. fun. happy flowers.kjkij1

The Easter bunny brought baskets of goodies for both of my boys.

I’m not sure which one of them is more spoiled. ;) IMG_3589IMG_3593Hot Wheels filled eggs received ooh’s and awe’s from Lovey.

I love his expression when he first saw them. Untitled-20There was a bunny puzzle.IMG_3622And table top bunny bowling too.IMG_3635The biggest hit in Lovey’s basket was his ring pop.

Suckers are always his sweet treat of choice, this one was no exception.

I prepared an Easter lunch for the three of us which included my first time making a green bean casserole and a brown sugar glazed ham.IMG_3608My favorites were the fun Easter colored deviled eggs and of course the chocolate bunny cake.Untitled-21I hid eggs in the back yard for Lovey to hunt.IMG_3661Untitled-23Always such a handsome, little gentleman. IMG_3651Untitled-24IMG_3658That evening we went out for dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant then back home to round out the day in comfy clothes and some cuddles on the couch.

We had a sweet Easter filled with the spirit of love and thankfulness for our Savior who died and rose again. ♥dc

Counting My Blessings On A Sunday Afternoon

Counting My blessings On A Sunday Afternoon

is where I reflect on a few of the many blessing and special moments in my life at the end of every week♥  kjkij    This week I am especially thankful for!…

~Playing Hot Wheels on the kitchen floor with Lovey. We lost a few under the stove but it was worth the fast paced action the floor tile provided for racing. ;)

~The first day this year warm enough to wear shorts and flip-flops. Woo hoo! You can bet Lovey and I spent the afternoon out and about soaking up the sunshine and warmth of the day.

~New kitchen dish towels found on clearance and a splurge on new throw pillows for the couch. Both adding a little pop of yellow to our house for Spring.

~Playing superheros with my little man. I assume the role of a lady in distress and he’s the super hero that protects me from the bad guys. My sweet hero saves the day and keeps me safe every time!

~A beautiful and blessed Easter weekend spent with my boys. ♥

Thank You Lord,

for Your many gracious blessings in my life!

Fishy Eggs

Lovey has always had a fascination with fish so when I saw this fish themed Easter egg decorating kit I knew he would love it.IMG_3558Untitled-8Untitled-11He and I had so much fun decorating our ‘fishy’ eggs together.rdfcUntitled-9We spent the afternoon pretending that we were fish too.

Fishy faces and fishy kisses.Untitled-10Lovey says the pink fish egg is me and the blue one is him.fdCan you see the resemblance?! ;) IMG_3583

Eggspecially Made

I thought these bags were eggspecially cute and perfect for putting Easter goodies in this year to send to family back home.IMG_3555I added the Easter sweets that I made, Easter basket cupcakes, IMG_3549   Chocolate dipped Peeps IMG_3547aAnd of course some Easter candy and a lucky egg or two. :) IMG_3552

Easter Happenings

As usual, our church’s Easter Carnival was held the day before Easter.

Lots of games for the kids.

Bean bag toss and a sucker tree.

Sand digging for a prize and rubber duckie round-up.

Jump time in the bounce house.

A game of soccer.

There was a clown who did magic tricks. And Lovey met up with his cousins too while we were there.

The egg hunt is always the main event with hundreds of plastic eggs spread about the field next to the church.

Mister Mister was Lovey’s spotter. ;)

Lovey was quick this year and managed to fill his entire basket.

Checking out the treats the eggs held.

To avoid the paint smearing as much as possible we always save the face painting / bible story booth until last.

On the way back home Lovey was out!

Easter morning the Easter Bunny left a basket for small and big boys alike. ;)

The look of excitement on Lovey’s face, priceless!

And this hug, so precious!

Lots of fun goodies.

Unfortunately we never got around to decorating our own Easter eggs this year. So Lovey did the rest of his egg hunting with his cousins when we went to their house Easter afternoon to attend one of their birthday partys.

Cake, presents and a pinata later.

Lovey was thrilled that he got a sucker out of the deal. :)

We had dinner out and then headed back home.

How handsome are my boys?! Oh my! :)

I kicked off my heels, they lost their ties, we got into our comfy clothes and called it a day, a very hoppy and blessed day!

Counting My Blessings On A Sunday Afternoon

Counting My blessings On A Sunday Afternoon

is where I reflect on a few of the many blessing and special moments in my life at the end of every week♥

This week I am especially thankful for:

~ “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead…”  Peter 1:3

~A very happy Easter indeed, spent with family which is what it is all about. ♥

~Mister Mister’s love for Lovey and I and the family that we are. Even with the very long hours he works he still wakes up, even when I know his body wants to keep sleeping, and spends time with us. Being a part of the family memories that are being created is important to him and I love and cherish that about him.

~A test of patience.  A test in which I failed miserably at. That’s how it goes sometimes though, if you never fail you will never grow. I learned from the experience and I am confident that the next time around my patience will have grown stronger.

~Baking and the happiness it brings me. I love to create beautiful and tasty desserts and see the smiles it brings to the ones I share them with.

Thank You Lord,

for Your many gracious blessings in my life!
